C U R R E N T L Y - What Emma & Dan, NZ's Mid-Century design cognoscenti (of @mrbigglesworthy) have been up to - and into - lately:

What are Dan and Emma Eagle (and their ridiculously cute new pup, Buster) been doing lately, aside from travelling the world to source the most amazing, authentic mid-century furniture, and restoring that furniture to showroom-new standard? Let's find out...

Dan ~ Chet Faker / Bonobo / Prince
Emma ~ TV on the Radio / Alt-J / Rodriguez / Yumi Zouma / Ed Sheeran
Buster ~ Meatloaf

Dan ~ Another trip to Melbourne. It was my first visit a few weeks ago and we have so much more to see.

Emma ~ Silver stacking rings from Alexandra Dodds. Keen to get a few more to go with the Lonely one Dan bought me for Christmas.

Buster ~ A new retractable leash. My two other leashes got chewed and broke. No idea how…

Dan ~ Haven’t had a lot of time to read lately but I’ve been listening to talking books while driving to work. Currently it’s Russia: The Wild East, by Martin Sixsmith and Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell.

We were recently at the NGV in Melbourne and I purchased the very awesome book, Mid Century Modern - Australian Furniture Design by Kirsty Grant and Beckett Rozenthals, published for the recent exhibition. I’ve looked at all the pictures and all I need now is for the talking book to be released!

Emma ~ New Zealand Fashion Design, by Angela Lassig. I've been meaning to check this out for a while and it's finally the time with so many rainy days. Highly recommended.

Dan ~ Mad Max: Fury Road. I have a soft spot for big budget post-apocalyptic road chase movies. The recent movie Dior and I had a slightly different theme but I was equally as amped after watching it.

Emma  ~ The Sally Eagle Bridal collection launch next month at Primrose and Finch - our very talented sister in law. It's the first time we've been to one of her events and it happens to be my birthday too. Bubbles, flowers and lace sounds like a great combination.

Buster - My next meal

Dan ~ Sake Bar 601. It's our local Japanese bar in Morningside.

Emma ~ Milse. I've been a couple of times now - it's dessert and hot chocolate heaven. Pretty incredible architecture and use of patterns from Cheshire too.

Buster ~ Bacon. Salmon skin. Bookmarks. Also I'll go for coasters and jandals.

Dan ~ I have become addicted to Instagram, Emma says I have got far too generous with my use of emoticons and dishing out likes. Wright20 Auction House inspires me with their amazing design-focused curatorship and rare collections.

Buster – The oven door. It always smells so good in there.

Dan ~ Woodhill for mountain biking. I've fallen off each time which has taken a while to recover from but it's been great trying out something new and trying to get a bit more fit.

Emma ~ The garden centre. We just replanted the garden with new goodies to cook with for winter. Our lemons are almost yellow and they're huge this year after we fertilised it the last few seasons.

Buster ~ Every day chew sessions from the $1 bag of bones Dad buys me from the Grey Lynn butcher.

Dan ~ Mad Max: Fury Road, family and friends.

Emma - Family. Mum is always helping us with gardening and I've been helping my parents with their house renovations. We don't have our own house yet but I've loved getting to know the interiors industry a little better and help with design decisions.

Buster ~ The remains I get to eat from the drip tray on the George Foreman grill.
