clever retail design

Carlo Orrico quit his job to open his dream store in New York - a specialist wine shop called Le Vigne. Architect and Design team Madlab and artist collective Spurse created the fit-out: a three-dimensional cubist representation of Italy, with each wine displayed on the region its from - so you navigate around the store as you might through the artisanal vineyards of Italy. It's a tangled mass of Op Shop tables, drawers and chairs, painted stark white, dissected and repurposed. Cheap idea, easy to execute and just brilliant. The space was also stripped back to the original 1902 bones and brick fireplaces, hardwood floors, and tin ceilings are left exposed. Thanks, Yolksy, for finding this little beauty.
